Mallorca

This is the largest of the legendary Islas Baleares, 62 miles long by 47 miles wide (hence it's name as it is derived from the latin "major" meaning bigger). In the north-west enjoy rugged mountains and rolling hills, that encompass numerous indentations providing spectacular anchorages. In the north-east Sirena Sailing will take you to the best sandy bays and attractive harbors. The coast of the ‘calas’ is to be found on the south-east, this includes Porto Colom which is the best natural harbor and anchorage in Mallorca and possibly in the whole of the Balearic Islands.

In the south-west you can treat yourself to some cultural sightseeing, fine shopping, excellent restaurants and tapas bars in the capital city of Palma. In this area we will also show you the high white cliffs with plenty of small bays and calas for you to swim in the crystal blue waters. You can also visit the Isla de Cabrera, a national park island and Isla de Dragonera. Inland, if you care to make any excursions, you will find unexpected beauty with olive groves and fruit orchards, Moorish terraced cultivation and dramatic views in the mountains. Winter cruising here is excellent as there are many warm and sunny days with a good sailing breezes, with temperatures on a par to a typical English summer's day.

Sirena Sailing and several of our charter boats are based in Puerto D´Andratx, which is in south-west Mallorca, around 20 minutes drive from the capital Palma de Mallorca. On a day out you can explore by water the beautiful beach of Sant Elm, zip across to the Isla de Dragonera (Dragonera Island), which is a nature reserve island full of wild animals and breathtaking walks. There are several unspoilt coves and beaches along this coastline where it is possible to get there by boat. Head to Cala Llamp with it´s cystal clear water and excellent restaurant. There is so much to see and do, so please contact us with your ideal day and we will give you as much information as possible.
